Travel is the last truth of human life. Some of the daily journeys of man within the journey of birth and death. The truth is so profound that the traveling mind of man is deceived by the trinity in the imaginary luxury of in this world.Just as the human soul is free from the bondage of the soul, and the soul is free to fly to the inaccessible place, so the human mind is anxious to travel around the earth in the innumerable bonds of life.Travel is therefore a part of human life from the time of Abahaman. Travel knowledge not only spreads in the deep. Travel has become essential in modern life. Those who, like this author, travel abroad with the greatest opportunity, write and publish travelogues. Travel stories in Oriya literature are therefore rare.
In June 1995, the author had the opportunity to travel to the United States. On behalf of the American Oriya Society, Dr. Sitikantha Das, President, Scientist, and his wife, Mrs. Kalpana Das, were invited to be the guests of the annual celebration of the Oriya Society and to read the basics. At the invitation of the British Airways, they had the opportunity to take a stopover on their way back from the United States to London and Paris. On that occasion I had the unexpected opportunity to read my writing at the Nehru Center in London. On hearing of my visit to London from Mr. Prafulla Mohanty, a well-known Oriya artist from London, I received a phone call from Mr. Lakshmi Mall Singhvi, then Hon’ble High Commissioner of India in London, at Cuttack House at noon. I couldn’t believe it at first.Dr. Singhvi set a date for my program and asked her to let me know. The first appearance and introduction with Dr. Singhvi at the idol award ceremony. He was the chairman of the award judging panel. Then there was the meeting, no more talking. After talking on the phone I also got a letter from him and thanked him for the date. Artist Prafulla Mohanty requested him to be his guest. This was the occasion for his trip to London. After the London program I went to France (Paris) at the loving request of Gracilla, a Panamanian girl who had learned Kathak dance in India. During the visit to Graciela Odisha, the author was a guest of the house for a week.He also hosted some of the most prestigious events in Paris. All of these are really rare opportunities for this author. The diary of the travelers of the United States, London, and Paris was so neglected.
